Cupid Doom World is set in the realms of cherubs: it’s Cupid’s world, they’re just living in it.

The promise they’re given is if they ever hit one of their parents with their arrows, they’ll exit Cupid’s world and be born as the child of their parents, so essentially all cherubs are pre-birth avatar versions of their human selves. Although the whole shooting-your-parent-to-become-human is extremely rare, it is possible, though various loopholes and other complications mean it sometimes isn’t as simple as we are led to believe.
